Patrons are responsible for the following policies and procedures of the Charles Ralph Holland Memorial Library. Materials borrowed or used in the library will be returned on time and in good condition. There is no charge for borrowing any library materials (see next paragraph).
Fines will be charged on materials borrowed and not returned on time. Charges will be assigned to damaged materials and patrons will be required to pay the replacement costs of materials lost. Failure to pay will result in a temporary or permanent loss of library privileges.
Patrons are required to present library card or ID verification upon staff request.
A patron may check out up to 10 items at a time from the library.
This means that a patron may check out 10 books as his/her total numbers of items.
Due to the limited size of our audiovisual collection, a patron will be limited to the following:
- 5 DVDs maximum per adult card (Under 18 cannot check out)
- 5 CDs or audiobooks maximum per card
New patrons are limited by a three month period to 3 DVDs or CDs and 5 items total. Meaning that patrons may check out 5 books as his/her total number of items for the first three months as patrons, but only 3 at any time of audio or visual materials.
Library Staff will not restrict the circulation of print materials based on age. Parents or legal guardians are responsible for maintaining the condition of the books checked out by their children including loss, damage or overdue, and they are wholly responsible for monitoring the appropriateness of materials their children check out.
Patrons may request materials from other libraries in the state. The patron requesting the ILL must have had a card for at least three months and owe no fines. One patrons may make only 3 requests at the same time.
Materials borrowed from other libraries may not be available for the same length of time as items from this library. In that case, the patron must follow the due date of the lending library.
Patrons will be responsible for paying for damaged or lost items borrowed through the ILL system based on the lending library’s fees.
